Province invests in infrastructure improvements at local arena

RENOUS (GNB) – The provincial government is investing $90,000 in infrastructure improvements to the Tom Donovan Arena in Renous.

“Our government’s investment will help ensure this important recreational facility is available to serve the entire Renous region for many years to come,” said Economic Development Minister Paul Robichaud. “The provincial government is proud to invest in these types of community projects that promote healthy living for families.”

Funding provided through the Regional Development Corporation will help defray the costs of the infrastructure project, which calls for the removal of rink boards and the installation of new rink boards.

“On behalf of the Friends of the Tom Donovan Arena, I would like to thank the provincial government and our local MLA, Jake Stewart, for the investment made here today,” said Simon Hallihan, chair of the Friends of Tom Donovan Arena. “With this investment, the youth of our community will be sure to have a place for physical activity for many years to come.”
